Are you civically engaged? Do you want to work toward social justice? Interested in receiving a scholarship to do community-based research?
The UCLA Center for Community Learning is now accepting applications for the 2017-18 Astin Civic Engagement Scholars Program. The Helen S. and Alexander W. Astin Civic Engagement Scholars Program supports the work of a select group of students who will conduct research on social issues in collaboration with a community partner organization. Over the course of a full academic year, students integrate academic coursework with experience gained from an internship. Each scholar will produce a comprehensive research thesis by the end of the year.
The Astin Civic Engagement program is open to students who will have upper division standing in 2017-18. Scholars chosen to participate in the program will be awarded a scholarship to support their research.
